ERDF Funding

The PEM Technology Gateway is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Northern & Western Regional Programme 2021–2027.

Overview

The PEM Technology Gateway is part of Enterprise Ireland’s nationwide Technology Gateway Network, a group of 17 specialised centres that support Irish companies with research, innovation, and product development.

At PEM, our team of engineers and researchers work directly with industry to help develop new ideas, solve technical challenges, and improve products and manufacturing processes. We apply advanced technologies and deep expertise across precision engineering, product development, manufacturing, materials, and product lifecycle management.

Our Aim

We act as a bridge between industry and the research expertise within ATU.

Our goal is to:

  • Help businesses clearly define their technical challenges
  • Connect them with the right researchers and equipment
  • Identify suitable Irish or EU funding
  • Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and successfully

This collaboration strengthens innovation capability in companies across the region and nationally, leading to new products, new services, and job growth.

National Gateway Network
Any company, anywhere in the country, can access specialist skills from any Gateway through their local contact point.

The PEM Technology Gateway and the wider network aim to:

  • Provide open access for all businesses
  • Deliver practical, industry-ready solutions
  • Maintain regional hubs with national reach
  • Connect companies to Ireland’s wider research infrastructure
